El Capítulo 4 cuenta la historia de los movimientos que definieron la década. Este apéndice cuenta otra historia: la del éxito masivo, año por año, en los dos mercados que dominaban la música popular mundial. Acá está todo lo que sonaba en la radio mientras la revolución ocurría — desde el pop inocente de 1960 hasta el rock que cerraba la década en 1969.

Una nota sobre las fuentes: El ranking de Estados Unidos viene del Billboard Year-End Hot 100, una lista oficial calculada con un sistema de puntos por semana en el chart desde 1958. El Reino Unido no tuvo una lista oficial de "mejores del año" hasta 1969 — antes de eso, el mercado se medía por charts semanales de varias publicaciones (NME, Record Retailer). Para este apéndice, el top 10 británico de cada año reúne los números uno más representativos de ese año según la fuente canónica reconocida por la Official Charts Company.
